  1. I believe the UMLACA is always fired upward at high trajectories (over 45 degrees). A flight path with the maximum range would have the shortest flight time.

The Darayya launch has a flight time of 20 seconds. It is very unlikely it is fired at its maximum range. It is almost impossible for any rocket on a high or optimum trajectory to go over 2000 meter in under 20 seconds.

    1. "…over 45 degrees…"

One could argue - if you have multiple targets, you need to vary the angle of launch. But there was only one shot - why poke your nose into the enemy? It can be something unexpected answer. It is better to use the maximum range.

However, I will not argue - the difference is small.

The main thing, I gave the engine configuration file - anyone can play with him. And make sure that the working distance of the SLU-FAE type short range missile approximately 2000 meters.

  2. I love the name Eskimo! It's far better than UMLACA which is a political/propaganda term - the vast majority of known uses are not "Alleged Chemical Attacks".

My observation is that there are probably four variants

    - A high explosive model with a longer payload
    - An oversized unit "Giant Eskimo"
    - A liquid/WP unit with shorter payload and different motor
    - The units used in Ghouta - distinct differences in motor nozzle and possibly narrower motor tube.

      There's so much flying!.. For example Q-tips - http://youtu.be/zAdfjgxxDEM?t=24s

  3. The name for the 122 improv unit may be 'volcano'

We also have accurate flight time, burn time, and range (subject to launch angle)

  4. Can you use your magic wand and work out an approximate launch elevation angle?

It looks to me to be over 30 degrees, but perhaps not over 40 degrees?

What is the range effect for 30, 35, 40, 42 angles?

    These are the video timings

    Ignition: 1.9 seconds
    Flameout: ~~ 5 seconds
    Splash: 17.9 seconds.
    Explosion sound: 23.5 seconds.
    Speed of sound @ 600m : ~337 m/s
My player sound delay < 0.2 seconds (sound after video)

    So derived figures.

    Burn time: 3 seconds
    Flight time: 16 seconds
    Splash-to-bang: 5.6 seconds
    Calculated distance to impact: 1887m
    Average ground speed: 117 m/s
